Local Paint Store Damaged by Smoke

Public Safety responded to a burglar alarm at PPG Paints on Burkemont Avenue just after 11:00 p.m.  Upon arrival, Public Safety Officer Carlton informed responding units a portion of the building was filled with smoke.  Firefighters made entry and discovered a large amount of smoke coming from a room containing an electrical appliance.  The fire was extinguished and the majority of damage was limited to smoke damage.  An investigation is being conducted at the time of this press release.
