De-militarized Grenade Found at Goodwill

On 10-14-23 MDPS responded to Goodwill on Bost Road in reference to a suspicious object that was found there. Staff reported finding a grenade in one of the recent donations. The building was evacuated along with neighboring businesses while the object was investigated. MDPS personnel were assisted by the Burke County Fire Marshall's office who upon inspected deemed the item as safe, confirming it to be a dummy grenade used for training. MDPS CID also responded to the scene. After a short while the grenade was removed and disposed of properly.
